I am a philosopher and classicist. During the academic year I am a lecturer in Latin and Classical Studies at the University of California, Riverside, and every summer I teach at the CUNY Latin/Greek Institute. I am also the Managing Editor of Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie.

Our lives are filled with ethical questions. My research is motivated above all by a concern for how we should inquire into such questions, and how our answers can help us live better.
